VOCAL EDGE AUDITION NOTICE
Dear Singers,
The A Cappella Society is looking for singers to form a line up for our biggest concert project to date, VOCAL EDGE. Selected singers will go through master-classes and rehearsals with industry experts Deke Sharon (USA) and Clement Chow (Singapore).
If you think you have the chops to commit to the project, please send your resume and an audition track to contact@a-cappella.org.sg by 10th February 2012.
DETAILS
Production date for Vocal Edge is set on 26 May 2012 at The Joyden Hall at Iluma. Rehearsals are targeted to begin by End-February, with on-site rehearsals from 24th May 2012 onwards.
TARGETS
The A Cappella Society is taking a bold step towards creating more professional programmes to cultivate professional performers and trainers; presenting an a cappella concert in Singapore that will put the wow factor into local a cappella: A show like no other.
ABOUT VOCAL EDGE
VOCAL EDGE is the concert set to be the ultimate a cappella experience for the performer and audience by bringing the best singers into rehearsal and master classes with the experts in the a cappella and music domains. The experience gained from the rehearsal process to the performance will allow performers to later transfer expertise and knowledge gained back to the community at large with TAS.
VOCAL EDGE will be produced and directed by Deke Sharon, vocals producer and music director of the world's only a cappella competition on TV, The Sing-Off, and founder of The Housejacks, the original “rock band without instruments”; together with one of Singapore's leading composer, arranger and events guru, Clement Chow. |

at The Arts House. From choirs, a cappella groups to vocalists
strutting their stuff at the Chamber and Playden, while clinicians will
lead in workshops at our Urban Music Centre that cover different aspects
of vocal health, technique and audio software. So come around, and join

If you have visited our site recently, we are already starting work on
our simultaneous multi-concert mega-event, Vocal Mania! 2011, which will
be held from 10AM-10PM on 20th March 2011 at The Arts House after a
successful run in April 2010. All three locations at The Arts House
(Playden, Chamber and Living Room) will be utilised for all sorts of
performances, from chorales to acoustic bands.
We'd like to invite your
group to take this opportunity to hold performances in conjunction with
our promotion of vocal music. Be it a collaborative performance with
another group, or a full length concert, we encourage all to take this
opportunity to share your group's repertoire and works alongside TAS
groups and friends! As slots and logistics are allocated on first come,
first served basis, we'd like your group to state your interests as soon
as possible to allow for us to follow up and thus confirm your slot

Celebrate the power and beauty of the human voice with us! Join us at
The Arts House for one full day exclusively dedicated to vocal music,
from A Cappella, Choral or Solo singing to Musical Theater, Rock or
Beatbox performances. VOCAL MANIA! is The A Cappella Society’s
simultaneous multi-concert fiesta. With a diverse repertoire, there will
be workshops and performances from TAS groups and various local groups
representing all their own styles and genres. The A Cappella Society Ltd
is an established charity and IPC with a strong and credible history in
creating and promoting vocal music programmes in Singapore. It has
provided free and ticketed programmes to all levels of audiences for
over 8 years, incepting itself as a company only in 2008 after many
years of establishing its very successful staple of annual programmes,
like the annual A Cappella Championships and the International A
Cappella Festival. |
