Audition Call for Xmas Choir
Dear Singers, would-be singers and lovers of Christmas music, AUDITION CALL for PROJECT: CHRISTMAS VOCAL JAM 2010 The A Cappella Society is looking for singers and would-be singers to form a mixed pop choir for our Christmas Vocal Jam Concert Project on the 27th of November which will be presented at the Esplanade Recital Studio in 2 settings, a matinee and an evening show. We are looking for: * Team Players * Singers with choral or pop a cappella experience * Singers without experience should possess a good ear for music and or some music theory background * Available to rehearse on Tuesday evenings * Dedication and commitment to see the project through to the end AUDITION DATE: July 13th From 7.30pm to 9.30pm Telok Ayer Performing Arts Centre 182 Cecil Street, 2nd level (first door on the left) Located next to the Tanjong Pagar MRT Exit G Please write in to contact@a-cappella.org.sg to audition.

The Keppel Nights tickets for the evening show are already sold out and the rest of the tickets are selling fast. Hurry to get one of the seats for the afternoon if you have a young child or the evening show, discounted tickets are available for PAssion Card members and students. There will be a shorter, 75min long, afternoon show at 3.30pm for Primary School children and the 90min-evening show at 7.30pm, both at Esplanade Recital Studio. In two shows, one for children and one for youth and young-at-heart, your favourite local A Cappella groups will bring the season's music closer to you. Expect to hear all your favourite carols and tunes in an intimate and informal setting. But be prepared to be active yourself and to sing along!

Schools may use the Tote Board Arts Grant to subsidise up to 60% of the cost of this programme. This year's AkaFest was held at ACS Barker's Lee Choon Guan Concert Hall and our groups delivered an exuberating concert! If you missed this year's concert, make it a point to catch next year's! They had everyone singing, including most of the guys in the audience! Our local teams also wowed the crowd with their unique approaches to a cappella performance.
